I have just discovered this amazing website that lets you explore your on creativity…for free. Often I have seen a cool t-shirt and thought to myself that I would like to design one. Well, now I have! Teespring is a crowdfunding platform for any individual, organisation, charity, good cause, or whatever, to design and sell t-shirts and hoodies at no outlay to themselves. You set a selling target and date and if the amount of shirts you sell hits that target then the t-shirts are made and shipped to the buyers. If not, well, maybe you could just try again. Buyers are only charged if the target is reached. If your target is exceeded, then you just make even more profit. You can read more about it here.
It’s an American company but they do ship internationally.
It is so easy to design a t-shirt that I made my own here: http://old.teespring.com/happiness.
One small change I would like to see is the ability for the buyer to select a men’s or a women’s version of your t-shirt. My creation is a women’s but maybe I will sell more if a man’s option was also available.
This campaign raised money for a girl’s choir, though at the time that I created my shirt there were no kids or toddler shirt options, which I would like to have seen. I would love the option to replicate the design in kids, mens and toddlers sizes.
I had great fun designing the shirt and would love to see it made. I would also love for the designer to be sent a complimentary version of their shirt so that they can assess the quality. I have had a rather disappointing experience with designing a t-shirt online before (Streetshirts) and would be interested to see whether the shirts are as high a quality as they advertise.
Certainly, I would recommend Teespring if only for that it seems to be a unique concept and is a waste-free way to produce unique shirts.
