Finally, over my holiday, I managed to finish reading the Kindle book “Nothing needs to be the way it’s always been” by Dawn Mills aka @The_Moiderer.  I have been a follower of hers for some time, and we were both doing Thinking Slimmer at about the same time, and it is always interesting to hear about the progress of other slimmers whilst you are trying to achieve your own target.  I was aware of her incredible slimming journey that led to her incredible achievement of running the London Marathon.  I was unaware until she published her book that her journey had involved at great deal more than losing weight, and that she had blogged her whole journey.

The book is a transcript of this blog, detailing her journey to happiness using cognitive hypnotherapy which eventually laid the path to her becoming a qualified hypnotherapist.  It is a moving tale of human interest and courage, and has certainly got me thinking about one or two things. I am amazed and inspired by her change in such a short period of time.  It is written in nice easy to read down to earth language and the concepts are explained in a very clear manner.

Educational and inspirational, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it made a great holiday read, with the blog posts separating the story into nice easy to read chunks.  I would love to read the follow-up story, and if she lived nearer, I would definitely be enquiring into her services as a therapist.  She demonstrates that the past need not define you, or dictate your future, and  I think that is a useful and motivational concept for many people.

Disclaimer: I bought this book.
